Orange Rain

For their ideals and their politics
People took sides and started a war
Then one day steel birds came and sprayed
The orange killer from the sky
The orange agent
The orange rain
Days and nights
It’s got into our water
It’s got into our soil
It’s killed our trees
It’s rotted our bodies

My daughter, she was born without eyes
Oh, why, God, why?
My son, he can never smile
Oh, why, Mom, why?
They will live like that
For the rest of their lives
My daughter and my son
And so many other children
Living their nightmares
Day by day
Day by day
Day by day…

My wish in this life, God,
Is that my children will die before me
That I will see them rest their tired bodies
That their last days won’t be without me

Half a century has gone by
Fifty years have passed
Our soil continues to rot
Our children and grandchildren ‘ve been born and suffered
Nobody has taken responsibility
Nobody has learned from this crime on humanity
Nobody has ever said sorry
For the orange rain!

The orange killer from the sky
The orange agent
The orange rain
Days and nights
It’s got into our water
It’s got into our soil
It’s killed our trees
It’s rotted our bodies

My daughter, she was born without eyes
Oh, why, God, why?
My son, he can never smile
Oh, why, Mom, why?
They will live like that
For the rest of their lives
My daughter and my son
And so many other children
Living their nightmares
Bravely and quietly

Day by day
Day by day
Day by day…
